Hi everyone you may have seen I traded in my 2014 M3W for a plus 4 and my first impressions are not so good.
The front end bounces at the slightest undulation in the road and squeaks and rattles from the from suspension.
I think the M3W is a much better ride than the new plus 4.
Is it just me?

You need some adjustable dampers!

That doesn't sound too normal.
The ride will be hard on rough roads, maybe the king pins needs to wear in?

Can you try the dealer's demo car side by side to see if it is normal?

That's strange, maybe your car needs checked. My Plus 4 (2010) is a car that you need to drive with a firm grip on the steering wheel but if you do that it'll go where ever you want it to go, an amazing feeling because you feel everything the front wheels are doing, but you are viscerally in command. I never had squeaks or rattles.

PS - Completely stock suspension.

They are all so different to drive: mine is driven with fingertips, but your report does not seem right and the advice to try out another is sound.

Hi Dave

Have you checked that your tyre pressures are correct?

Tyre pressures were 25psi. I have reduced them to 22 psi and I will try again tomorrow.

Worth a quick check to see if the front is greased. Have heard of new cars arriving (albeit downunder) ungreased.

The kingpins etc. If you have a grease gun it's easy....there will be one grease nipple at the base of the king pins and one at the top (probably for the later). Connect, give a few pumps on the grease gun and see how it is. BUT check no grease makes its way to the brake discs.
