All,
I've gotten as far as replacing the rear bumper bar with over riders. Now comes the front which looks quite simple, the current metalwork associated with it comes off and two steel brackets replace it onto which the over riders are hung. The steering track rod goes thrught the centre. But the brackets have a right angle bent into the steel at the back, a return if you like. Do these returns point into each other or outwards towards the wheels?

Hi Mark

Cant visualise the bracket you mean, are you asking about the ones that are bolted through the rack mounting alloy clamps? If so I have a build photo of an earlier car of mine that show these well.

Spanner,
Not sure. the front bumper support brackets are fixed to a lower and upper point om the fixed suspension. The over rider brackets have the rack mounts passing through them although they attach via U-Clamps to more or less the same points. But they are stengthened by having a 90 degree return bent into them. My question is should the returns point in or out?

I am lost Mark, send me a PM with your email address as my photos are high definition and by the time I reduce them I am worried they will not show enough details, they may not even be what you want, I will try them on here but if you cant zoom to see what you need pop me a PM and I will send higher res to you direct. Fingers crossed they are what you need

From memory the returns point inwards. When you fit them, test the clearance on full rebound because there are two types of bracket and the early ones are not compatible with later geometry and the track rods may bind, so be careful.

PS: Scroll down on this thread and you'll see the returns are inwards.

Thanks all for replies. I've taken a look at the thread DaveW suggested and agree that the returns should face inwards. At least that's the way they are going in. Wil lets you know how it goes.
