Mornin' all

Another question - being an outside in all weathers car, the cotton thread in the hood started turning a light shade of green. BHM kindly cleaned this when car was with them post side screen repairs, and advise treating the thread every three months or so.

Does anyone have experience of a suitable preservative / cleaner please? Option suggested so far are furniture wax or silicon fabric treatment, as per http://www.grangers.co.uk/productview.asp?id=24

I have used the Autoglym roof cleaner and protector in the past and found it to be an excellent 2-step process (easy to use and priced well - iirc under £20.00 from Halfords)

My roof is Neverflex, rather than mohair, but I did notice this on the Autoglym link

Handy Tips

For vinyl or plastic car hoods – Use Autoglym Interior Shampoo to clean, and a light application of Autoglym Bumper Care to protect.

Although I think that is more about the material than the stitching.

Good old Dubbin is the stuff...bit cheaper than the branded 'specialist' products.
