I've never, ever had a problem with horse riders. I've always driven or ridden carefully around them and 99% of the time I've had a cheery wave for doing so.

As for cyclists what's the problem? They've as much right to be on the road as you have. If they're riding a couple abreast so what? Take your time and get round them safely, that's what it's all about.

I like horses, but I couldn't eat a whole one..

Hmm! Cyclists don't pay road tax, don't obey traffic lights, or any other road rules. They seem to think they have more rights than any other road users.

I respect individual cyclists that obey the rules and keep well to the side of the road. I have no time for the masses of idiots that form moving chicanes on the public roads without any consideration of other road users.

We have both horses and cows.
Never had a problem with the horses, other than being curious and at times wanting to race me to the front gate.
Cows on the other hand, well let’s just say they are plain DUMB.
One day on the way to the office, and being in somewhat of a hurry, one of the cows was on our road leading out and would not move.
I had the bright idea to nudge her with the car thinking she would move out of the way and off the road.
So forward I go, slowly I might add, and nudged her on the back side.
AND THEN the beast just sat down on the hood of the car.
So maybe it was this driver that was DUMB, rather than the animal.
DUMB can be expensive.

No.6, please add BMW drivers, driving competence generally in inverse proportion to the size of vehicle.

Horses are rarely seen on our roads - at least in NSW, but cyclists are allowed to ride two abreast taking up a whole lane. And where I live there is a dual carriageway with a cycle lane and a bus lane, so the cyclists ride in the bus lane! Please explain?

Having been raised partly on a ranch, I've always had the suspicion that cows may actually be a lot smarter than they let on.... I've rarely seen one let a human onboard for roping, barrel racing, or even a good 7 min. 30 sec. chucker. I am still eagerly awaiting for a definitive bevel box solution so I can buy my long awaited 3W, and drive it to the club for a good match. I am sure the "ponies' (they are really horses) would quickly get used to it.

Any one tell me the logic for cyclist riding two abreast, very common down our road which is a narrow lane and part of a national cycle route.
Some (not all) cyclists seem to to see this as a 'right' and refuse to let vehicles pass for a considerable distance.
So what is it, is it a social chat or alfa male protection( like walking your dog). And why has it been made legal in some countries…… Cyclists please explain to me this joined at the hip behaviour, Thanks

Used to drive in London.

Stopped now due to "pack" mentality cyclists screaming and kicking and generally being abusive unless I in effect, handed the road Over to them.

Life too short

Now walk.

Wearing body armour and cycling helmet on pavements- as cyclists there too.

Looking at flying around London- only place safe from the "pack"

NB - even taxis have stickers on saying " beware cyclists" when you get out of them. That can be translated a few ways n

Jay your horse was well trained. I don't forget that there were horses on the roads before cyclists and cars. Both have a right to be there if the are considerate. Riding two abreast on narrow roads is not considerate.
Many years ago we used to turn out cows after milking to the field across the road so I used to stand in the road & hold up the traffic to let the cows across. Most drivers did not complain. One day the cows were crossing when a cycle road race mob appeared. They did not stop but went round me & the cows. Its a pity non of the cows did a Jays horse.
