I have the large top half, small bottom half tank. (Unsure but it looks rectangular to me) The gauge shows full for the first half then drops to near empty. I use the trip meter and get fuel at 250 miles.
Cheers,

When 0 is reached, it remains 12 liters.

The average fuel consumption for 100 km is 7 liters.

Impressive: your gauge is precisely as accurate as mine!
180km then hand moves then roughly 10 liters left when at pump.

Even though the process of doing the math every time we're at the pump may sound fun, his SHOULD be solved by MMC.

Cheers,
Vladimir

Exactly. Fill up and the needle sits on full for about 160 miles, it then starts to fall and at 200 miles it is at half. Having got that far it loses the will to live and falls rapidly towards empty.

I normally fill up at 250, but think through the matter it is clear I should, assuming a 5L reserve and a 55L tank with an average of 28 mpg, be able to go to over 300 miles.

So far I've not had the nerve to do so!.

My fuel guage seems to be pretty good. Sometimes after a fill it shows just under full and at other times it shows full. When it shows empty I have about 20 kms reserve. For me that is as it should be.

Peter I think you need to report that as a fault to MMC as nobody elses's seems to be that accurate! laugh2 There were a few times in the early days before I used the trip meter method that swmbo was oblivious to my panic that at some point in our journey whilst I was drive that I would need to expain to her that she needed to get out and push! sos surrender
