Graham, a pic for you, it's a K series with Bell & Colvill 160 upgrade (Piper Cams, vernier timing, Minister flowed cylinder head, uprated head gasket) When I first went to view it the original Pirellis were still fitted, the fronts date coded 1995 one of the very early Elises with MMC (aluminium matrix) discs Just been to France and covered 2400 drama free miles taking the total to 19000 in 18 years

Yep, I agree Bob. Looks great Richard.
There is something timeless about the earlier (K-series) cars, almost a little bit of Europa in that nose and a bit of GT40 further back along the bonnet...
I've seen the luggage space in your newer one Richard, are these similar?

There is something timeless about the earlier (K-series) cars I couldn't agree more - despite all the stories about head gaskets they're the version I like the best. Looks like you've bagged yourself a fine example.

DaveW, Yes- just about manage the sills though anyone under 5' 10" would struggle The boot is deeper but narrower than the newer cars, the early cars have a fabric 'boot bag' liner, later cars the boot was incorporated in the body shell moulding and lined with carpet. There is a good amount of space behind the seats, probably half that you find on a trad. On a two week French trip there was adequate capacity for two people staying in a gite and b&b, would struggle if camping but did pack a couple of chairs (helinox) and a jetboil stove

I remember sitting in a a chrome yellow with black interior one on these at the Paris Motor Show in 1995 or 96, and yes at less than 5'10" the sills are definitely a struggle! Funnily enough I was browsing Paul Matty's site earlier this week and saw this: http://www.paulmattysportscars.co.uk/showroom/stock-detail.aspx?id=3347Looks to be a nice example though not as nicely tweaked as yours Richard.

That one looks lovely - it's previous owner must have been the Lotus equivalent of JTL or Adrian.
