Thanks Q8...but I filled the box through the orange cap hole, with the drain plug and the correct fill hole plugged. I put enough oil in so that oil started to drip out the same hole I was filling from (the orange cap hole).

It seems I've put more oil in the box than I would have if I had used what is apparently the correct fill hole ( which I assume is above the drain hole)

Any problem with this? Any risk of damaging the bevel box?

The reason I ask is that since changing the BB oil, the low RPM rattle, which I assumed (and was told by my dealer) was the compensator, and which has been plauging the car, and worsening with time, has utterly and happily disappeared! I posit that the old BB goo was allowing some nasty driveline resonance due to insufficient lubrication. To note, I live in a hot climate, just like GreyGoose, I wonder whether the old oil additives and 100 degree F temps don't agree with each other.

Look at those pics & be the judge, the bolt above the drain plug looks low.better fill through the orange fill cap & if there is extra oil it might go out through the breather/orange cap..the orange filler is located middle of the bb..someone contact the factory if possible to double check

I took mine back to the factory last year for its first service and they filled the BB up to the orange cap as in the photo above.

Looking at the orange cap you need to fill it with 710 smile

(Sorry old joke but still makes me smile!)

Well, that's a bit of a revelation, what is the upper of the two drain/fill holes for then?

Richard, it may be old, but you'll have to explain it to me I'm afraid.

Once a blond went to a garage and asked for a can of 710. The mechanic could not help but the blond was insistent, so she took him to the car and pointed to the upside down oil filler cap. "Told you I need 710" she explained to the mechanic.

The orange cap above for the bevel box has "OIL" written on it.

The blanked off hole immediately above the drain hole could be there for machining/manufacturing purposes and then just blanked off with a bolt.
