Quick question - I'm have a friend who TIG welds make a new aluminum radiator to fit in the mog. Not the exact same dimensions as the original, but should cool much better. I'm going to have him weld on a bung for the coolant temperature sensor, but noticed that the front bung on the thermostat housing (occupied currently by a plug) is the same thread as the sensor. Could I just screw the sensor into the thermostat housing instead? The only difference I would expect is that it would be mounted prior to the thermostat so would probably show the car warming up sooner.
