Aeroman's Special Project...More Photos
Here are the rest of the photos...showing the complete car. Sorry about the teasers earlier...I just couldn't resist!
I'll leave Brian to tell you more about the car once he's back from Salon Prive. But the photos tell quite a lot about the detail although whilst I peered under the car, it wasn't possible to take any photos. There did appear to be some louvres under there! I knew Brian wouldn't let we louvre counters down! I'm sure he will love to tell you more about the underpinnings.
The Rocket Red is stunning and really shows the car off well...and the scratch from the photographer's ( NOT me or Richard/Redmorgan!) stepladders is well hidden!
The interior highlights all the materials used in a traditional Morgan, with brushed alloy, leather, wood and paint and if anyone is wondering about the centre of the dash....thats an iPad you can see. Bear in mind there is no rear window!!

Many thanks Frank, I think that MogMag did an excellent job, great photos and I love the article. After the initial idea, it took nearly 2-years to get the Board to approve the idea, but I think it has paid them back in column inches of publicity! Apparently it has generated more than any other car that Morgan has launched... Hope to see you at the factory when we go Frank, we could even pass the hat around and raise a bit for HTH?

Whilst I applaud the ambition, craftsmanship and sheer madness of this car it doesn't really work for me from a design perspective. It looks like a cross between an Aero, a Marcos Mantera and a Boris Bus.
This is of course only my opinion and worth all of two cents but I would have liked to see the design go further away from the standard and classic Morgan front end.
Rather than a mad and modern interpretation of the classic Morgan design vernacular I'd have loved to see a new and original body shape in all respects albeit designed and built by Morgan Motor Company.
Just my 2 cents of course and it is of course much easier to criticise than it is to create.

It won't please everyone, nor was it ever meant to, I'm sure if Morgan launch a new model it may well be a different perspective ........................................but in the meantime, he who pays the piper calls the tune!

Well......I've never seen a Boris Bus in that style. I rarely go to London these days so perhaps I'm missing out on something.

Stunning car, Brian, I like the SP1 (based on the 2009 Lifecar), almost in every detail……only some (looking) doubts about the rear end. I must recognize that it is not an easy job to design it…..but I believe that the SP1 rear end is (too) short, high and massive, and not matching the lines of the car. But only to satisfy my (and perhaps your) curiosity, what’s the new “MSP” Division for? Am I right to answer It was created to manufacture bespoke cars, really special in every detail, works of art, free from the common car-looking expectations, to satisfy who really wants his own car and accepts to wait for a long time? Obviously, the prices of those Special Project cars, manufactured as a one-off or very (very) limited units, might be “sensibly” high, even they’ll represent good value for money (IMHO); I believe that there are other important results for MMC from this project. For example it will raise the reputation and the fame of the Morgan brand in the world; and probably will help to improve the manpower skills of the Factory; or give some ideas for new models to produce etc. It could be a new (important) opportunity for MMC (IMHO), and just to underline the project I’d suggest to change the TM front page adding a new “Forum” to the “MSC Forum list” entitled: “Morgan Special Projects”, where to post photos and comments regarding the Special Project cars. Good luck to the SP Division. Regards Claudio _____________ Visit Italy http://www.flickr.com/photos/claudiobardeggiabrandi/sets/72157623861460615/
