I wish I had great photos of the places I have been. Sadly, today, no.

I killed a deer today with my M3W. I was lucky. When she came out from the side, she hit the right fender and the right headlamp. The headlamp was sheered off and the fender had a few bruises but the rest of the car was untouched!

Deer was done. We had to wait for someone to come and finish the job.

This is not the first time I have done this. Last time it almost totaled the car I was driving. This time not so much.

As it happens, I was on my way to my dealer to change out the rear sprocket as it had been set up a few weeks ago. So we changed that out and eliminated the god awful noises coming from the rear. I ordered a new lamp assembly. We also talked of options to fix the very minor bends in the fender as well as clean up the goddam chicken tracks on the other fender as I do live on a farm and those little bird brains are every where...

I was not driving a motorcycle. I was driving a car. I hit a deer. I walked away. The deer did not.

Ouch!
Very glad you got away with it, all to easy for something like a deer to come over the top of a low slung car which could be an awful lot worse than a bit of metalwork and a light unit.

No lie. My biggest fear living where I do. We have critters! Large and small. It becomes a mathematical certainty that one will collide with some kind of fur ball.

Thank dog it wasn't a moose! That would have made my day in a real bad way!

Michael, I'm sorry to hear about your mishap.

Being born and raised in Michigan until I moved to the greater St Louis MO area in '02, car deer accidents are quite common. Evenn whenn I ride in the country down here, I'm very cautious of deer.

You can drive defensivly, but the deer don't listen, they'll run into the side of cars and the driver never stands a chance.

Over my driving years in Michigan, I've hit 10 and killed 9 of them. One morning on the way to work I hit two at once and the only damage, if you call it that, was one of the hoofs wiped some mud off my lower front fender. I litteraly ran over both of them.

I'm glad to hear that your damage was very limited.

Fitted new Blockleys yesterday and went for a short run about up Donside and back down Deeside just to bed them in.
The tyres seemed to need a hell of a lot of lead to balance them despite using proper adaptors on the machine but no steering wobbles so who knows?

Hugh,
I got a fraction over 8000 for the first set of Blockleys. Left was down to borderline illegal in the centre and the right had a little bit more tread left. I still blame roundabouts for the slightly uneven wear, must get over to the continent or just start going round them the other way!

laugh2 Yep I had same wear problem on my Avons !
I'll give the Blockleys a go next time I change , but it won't be for a while , rear one will need changing before too long especially as winter rapidly approaching !

Being curious, just what are you keeping the pressure at with your Blockleys? I have been very impressed with mine as they have really improved the handling of the car.
