Well, how dull was that??

We arrived at 10.30 to see the end of Quali, then a brief 15 min chat with Graham, Jays and GerryWal (hello !!) then up to "Orchard" where swmbo announced "There will be a crash today".

So, 15 mins later, she was proven right (see car being recovered by tractor above).

Just before lunch, the Prescott lap record was broken (see pic with Bonhams banner) with a time of 35.95 secs - scared crazy2

After lunch, the racers went mad - the 1 crash became two, then three etc ending with 5 crashes, two spins and one blown engine. No injuries I am very happy to report.

Plus a sunburnt neck. And all for 15 quid a head!!

As I say, quite dull really but I might be persuaded to go again.

Cheers

A fun day...nice meeting up, albeit briefly! Great drive back via Winchcombe and Broadway.

And just when it should have been all over, the driver who had lost a wheel in a crash this morning took 3/4 second off what had been he course record at the start of the day!!!!
Not sure what impressed me most - Josh Goodyear's undoubted ability, his courage and commitment or the fact he got into a car which had just had front wheel and suspension replaced and drove faster than anyone else EVER has at Prescott.
Talk about trusting your life to mechanics. notworthy

As Jeremy says 'All for £15 - How dull was that'.
I may be back - if there's nothing else on the same weekend. winky

Must find the other TM-ers next time, sorry to miss you all today

I drove away from Prescott via Winchcombe, too,and turned into the very narrow Castle Street. I see there is a classic car show at Sudeley Castle in a couple of weeks time. Gerry.

Very disappointed I could not be there and see some chums, I was chained to a paint brush by swmbo, redoing major kitchen renovation, penance for Little Red Rosie. But I have a Brooklands Morgan day pass joy

We left just before the final run off: can't believe the record went again !! Fair play to all competitors - the mounting crash toll must've played on their minds - and yet the lap record went again. "Not worthy" indeed Adrian !

Nice to see 4 trads an Aero and original 3 wheeler at Prescott today. No yellow peril(s) today - but G did have a fair bit of equipt to carry today, so I guess we can forgive laugh2

Anyone know who owns / was driving the aero in the procession at lunchtime?
It sounded wonderful.

PS Jeremy - at end of day JG left the record at 35.51. At the start of the day the record was 36.24 and his car is only a supercharged 1340cc!!!!!!!

Pretty quick these little m/c engined cars! smile
I was halfway to having a Morgan Jeremy - there is a Mog badge on the back of the Land Rover, above the rear door. Timing (having been away on holiday all the previous week) meant not doing battle with car shuffling etc. when all my kit was already on board the 90.
The Aero Coupe is, I believe, a factory demonstrator. It was driven by Dixon Smith, then also by our Clerk of Course, Dave Riley. Oh, and first run up by Tony Agg, another BOC Prescott official. It was his delectable AM parked up close to the start line.
