I'm wondering if anyone know's of a way to import a new Plus-8 into the USA.

I realize the car isn't federalized, but might it not be possible to import a rolling chassis, sans engine, into the USA, and then have the standard BMW engine installed stateside?

This is exactly how Caterham operates in the US, the cars are then registered as kit cars, or replicas, depending on the state.

Seems simple enough...no?

Morgan West is doing the same gig w the Roadster. Isis motors in San Fran would be well worth a call. Most Morgans in the US are a result of their efforts.
Find a 2005 Roadster & buy it. I did & love it.

You could possibly get a grey market one in from Canada, have. Few buddies with Nissan skylines that way
