When I took the jack in my 2005 PLUS 4, I saw a small hole in the tool tray. The Jack is stored on the left side just above the T connecting piece of the rear brake piping which is fixed on the back axle. I suppose on big bump the T piece could collide the tool tray at this place where the hole which received the jack has the maximun depth : 9cm (3.6"). On the symetric place the depth is the half allowing an extra gap of 4.5 cm (1.8"). I decide to turn the tool tray from left to right in order to have more gap between the T piece and the tool tray. Now the jack is stored on the right side.  [IMG]

Mine is on the right side but two of the piddly little screws that hold the tool tray in place have broken

Just returned from holiday, battery flat, in the old plus 8 lift the board out and attach battery charger.
Jesus the newish plus 4 tool tray six screws holding it down took half an hour to extract, the battery terminals are not exactly easy to get at either.

Frontside- my jack, hub spanner and hammer are all under the bonnet in the tool box (2000 reg 4/4). Gerry.

Rob, Don't know which battery charger you have, but I suggest a permanent fused lead from battery into cockpit somewhere with a suitable connector - makes like a lot easier!  Cheers,

Rob, Don't know which battery charger you have, but I suggest a permanent fused lead from battery into cockpit somewhere with a suitable connector - makes like a lot easier! Cheers, Or use the cigarette lighter socket that modern Morgans have fitted. A CTEK charger and all battery woes disappear. The problem is the constant drain from ECU etc.

yup mine was on the (UK) passenger side and it has impact damage in the jack stowage part where it has come into contact with the diff as it boings up and down.
Going to repair tray for now and 180° it so it sits behind me in the drivers seat (UK) then think about making a less flimsy replacement trays maybe two of sitting either side of the Diff to avoid any fouling
