... but maybe its just me ? Not it isn't. John, Brian, Andy and myself have been on the receiving end of some very 'interesting' comments from MSCC members with respect to the Aero. In fact, the many of these were at LMC in 2010 and 2012. Whilst there are many members who are welcoming, there are a vocal part of the group who are more than happy to be fairly obnoxious toward anything other than a Trad. With that said, we all have them to thank for TM because without that venom, I'd never have been motivated to create a home where all were welcome. I agree totally and really glad you set up TM. Some MSCC members unfortunately have a rather narrow view, and outlook in my experience, all a bit sad. If MMC make it then its a Morgan as far as I am concerned, if someone does not like a particular model then fine they should stick with what they like, but that does not mean one is necessarily better or worse that another, just different. I think our support and interest that will be shown when we get to see Brian's new Morgan will be testament to how open and inclusive we TMer's are, as I am sure we will all turn up in a variety of Morgans.

At the picnic I attended a couple of people were rather scathing and down your nose because my badge bar has no badges..... That is really sad. Barely believable - well with no badge bar ever fitted on the three Morgans that's me "persona non grata" Luckily by the sound of it. I remember this thinking at Primary School over Cigarette Cards....

Simon - just as well my wife didn't witness it. She would have told them to F*** off and I think the 't' word would ahve been in that sentence too! My take on it is that there are a lot of older members who probably first bought a Morgan in an era when they were much cheaper to buy and at a time when a lot of the other makes of cars were similar in style and build. Also, a lot of those people probably did their own maintenance as it was the only way they could afford to keep them on the road. My first cars I used to work on and service myself but a string of company cars stopped that. Now I think there is a younger age group coming through brought about by the Aero and M3W and we should all be pleased that it provides more choice and more people into the fold. With that also brings a lot of people who aren't retired and either don't have the time or skills to do a lot of the work on the cars - or they have the money so that they can ensure they can spend as much time driving the car as possible. The people we are bonding with are people in our age group who feel the same way.

I bought my Morgan because I had one in my youth in the sixties, when one was on your own, and had promised myself that one day I would own another. I am loathe to join my local group of mscc as I don't play golf and I tend to call a spade a spade. TM has been a godsend to me but TM does not easily facilitate meeting other owners in the flesh.

TM has been a godsend to me but TM does not easily facilitate meeting other owners in the flesh. That's not quite true. Look at the Meets section.

Unfortunately 'these people' are around in most car clubs, and probably 'elsewhere clubs'. The acid test of a car club is to walk onto the stand at the NEC. The MSCC generally gets good reviews from the NEC, but some clubs will treat you with disdain or ignore you. I've had some bad experiences with TVR owners on several occasions - bad enough to put me right off having one. The Lotus Clubs are much friendlier from my experiences. The MGCC can be extremely elitist, and with opinions similar to the badge bar experience. Especially in the rubber bumper era. That's life I'm afraid - my skin is thick enough not to bother about it that much.
