Dishy, I Use a CTEK MXS 5.0 on my 2011 4/4 and it works a treat.

I should also mention it's a good idea to buy the Cigarette adaptor which you can plug straight in. Just make sure the adaptor is “live” with the ignition off.

I have the ctek, don't know which model but around £59.00 from Brands Hatch Morgans, great product. On my other Mog I have a Lidl £14.00 conditioner that I have to connect to the battery with crocodile clips, works just as well IMHO.

I bought the Ctek 4.3 and two Comfort Indicator eyelet which are permanently connected to the battery on both cars. The Indicator continually monitors the battery, when needed I just plug the Battery Conditioner into the socket. $58 US for the Conditioner on Amazon with free shipping and $11 each for the comfort Indicators. I bought this based on recommendations on TM, really pleased with the performance.

I have a Ctek 3.6 charger with which I am very happy.
If I was buying again I would go for the Ctek 5.0 as it has more advanced charging method. Check both of them out.

I found the connection to the power socket unreliable, so have connected a fused connection directly to the battery with a flying lead in the luggage area behind the seat. Easy to connect to and easy to remember it is plugged in.

I've always been a big fan of Optimate's products; and use one on my 4/4 as well as a motorbike.
I have the unit mounted on the garage wall and fused connectors on the vehicle battery.

I agree Bud, but to be honest mainly because I had one left over from Biking days, I emailed them to ask if it would be OK with a car battery and they said fine so I connected it and have used it for 13 years now without a problem on several cars. Only this week I wired up another one (a later model) for a fellow TM'er....reports are its working fine. Like you mine hangs on the garage wall and gets plugged in when I exit the car.
