I have just found out why they get fitted the wrong way around after carrying out a temporary repair to my plastic tray to tide me over for now.

Whoever cut the trays particularly the edge nearest to the jack handle they cut them short, I discovered this when turning it 180° the part that holds the hook end fouls the frame (I removed this part of the moulding to make it fit)

If they had cut the edges 3/4" to the opposite the way they have on mine the tray would have fitted without this issue and the jack moulding would not impact with any moving parts.

A silly needless mistake.

Quite tempted to fill the void with expanding foam (in a bag) let it go off - then travel with it and let it compress the foam to find the limits of travel of the diff and axle etc

Or maybe just find someone who makes trays.

Something else I noted today when greasing the leaf springs etc.

They realise that there was a problem fitting the tray - they have cut out a notch in the lip frame work on the passenger side to accommodate the hook end of the jack handle.

Looking at other pictures it seems to be common.

Anyone not think hey why not cut the tray correctly instead of having to cut the wood work.

Or even have the trays reformed so the handle lay slightly different?
