Hello,
Can anyone clarify for me the following, does the new dashboard layout in the plus 4 signify that the car also has the new gdi engine.

I am sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the new dash came in around the middle of 2014 just before they went to the GDI engine.

The new dash was introduced at the same time as the GDI engine in March this year.

Thanks for your reply. I am seriously considering changing my roadster to a new + 4 GDI for similar reasons to Heinz, my only niggling doubt is the reduction in HP, all other aspects of the car are fine,.
Alan.

I think the answer is a mechanical supercharger: this would up both power and torque without requiring the massive inter-cooler a turbo needs.
As the 2.0L GDI is really the Ford Ecoboost without the boost it is perfectly capable of being pushed towards 200bhp and 200 ft lbs, which is more than enough.

I have to say that should anyone reliable offer this mod (even the factory) I'd probably "downgrade" to a +4S

Surely the Plus4 and roadster have the same dimensions as they are medium mogs?

I remember a lovely green Plus Eight from Brands Hatch with a supercharger. I was very tempted by that idea.
I think that Peter is onto a good idea.

Something like this? A very neat installation on a Zetec at Prescott a few weeks ago. The supercharger is quite compact...its the piping that would need to be carefully routed under a Morgan bonnet. Having gone down the throttle body route on my previous 4/4, I'd certainly look at a supercharger next time!

He'd have heaps more room in the Roadster for such tinkering wink
