I think the answer is a mechanical supercharger: this would up both power and torque without requiring the massive inter-cooler a turbo needs. As the 2.0L GDI is really the Ford Ecoboost without the boost it is perfectly capable of being pushed towards 200bhp and 200 ft lbs, which is more than enough.
I have to say that should anyone reliable offer this mod (even the factory) I'd probably "downgrade" to a +4S

Something like this? A very neat installation on a Zetec at Prescott a few weeks ago. The supercharger is quite compact...its the piping that would need to be carefully routed under a Morgan bonnet. Having gone down the throttle body route on my previous 4/4, I'd certainly look at a supercharger next time!
