Heinz , no it is connected alongside the original signal wire with the condenser body grounded , just as it would be installed in a distributor , i dont know the value but i think they are usualy 2,5 micro farad .

My 2013 4/4 has read 8kph slow at 100kph since day one.
On the delivery drive back from Melbourne I realised I was the fastest thing on the motorway and the gong on the satnav kept warning me I was speeding too.
The dealer gave the garage that performs warranty work a set of codes but this has made no difference.
Others tell me its normal. I'm getting used to hearing that! Are you sure it has not been programmed for the Plus 4. The Plus 4 has smaller diameter tyres and would make a car with 4/4 tyres under-read the speed by about 5% In any case you can do a little trial and error and adjust it yourself. Since you have the code the dealer gave you you can always revert to that.

I should have added my speedometer is a SMITHS clock which pretends to be an old mechanical chronometer by jumping up and down by a couple of mph at a time as you accelerate and decelerate. My speedo (2013 +4) had the same jumpy needle from new and developed increasingly erratic behaviour such as reading a constant random number of mph under or over the actual speed, typically 20-30 mph in one direction or the other. It was fixed under warranty and since then for 2,000 miles has been rock steady without any odd behaviour at all. I assume they replaced the speedo because when the car was returned the odometer was reset to zero.

Nick, This should have been fixed at PDI. The "Normal" Morgan speedo reading is above actual speed by about 8% from recent experience. This link may help with the problem https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&p...DIxODYzOTRmNjJjContacts in the Department of Infrastructure regarding the Australian Design Rules provided this note The current ADR prohibits any under-reading:
"5.3. The speed indicated shall not be less than the true speed of the vehicle. At the test speeds specified in paragraph 5.2.5. above, there shall be the following relationship between the speed displayed (V1 ) and the true speed (V2).
0 ≤ (V1 - V2) ≤ 0.1 V2 + 4 km/h."
This formula means that the vehicle's actual (true) speed must not be greater than the displayed speed. (Displayed speed minus true speed must be greater than or equal to 0, and less than or equal to 4kmh plus 10% of true speed). This means that if your vehicle's actual speed is 100kmh, the displayed speed is permitted to be anywhere between 100kmh and 114kmh.
