I wonder if the extra weight of the Brookland's exhaust on the end is causing the flex that cracks the pipe.

I always thought that they are not mounted correctly. The standard car has 2 mounts at the silencer and the Brooklands only has one at the rear. And then another just in front of the weld which keeps cracking.

I was at my dealer today and he pointed out that new (non Brooklands) 3Ws have started arriving with new, bigger bobbins (silent blocks) on the exhausts (but not on the rectifier, which apparently doesn't need beefier ones now it's been moved to a new position on the chassis)   My 2012 car in comparison
