This asking price is absurd. But perhaps this classified shows a view into the future. Todays asking prices for a good 1966 912 were absurd two years ago as well.
Today I handed over my 1960 Porsche 356 to its new owner...got a good price and he said I can drive it any time (he has a large collection of cars)...I will miss the design, smell, noise and people's reaction to seeing it on the road BUT...life moves on and I am 6 weeks away from my brand new 2014 all black 4/4 from Phil Lidgerwood....at the age of 63 I can still get excited about a new car...Phil rang me last Fri to till me the chassis build has begun and I will be down to the Factory soon. The prices of all things Porsche have gone mad !!!!!!
Ok I feel better now !!!!

Not really a huge fan of Porkers myself, tho' I do rather like the earlier 911's, before they started getting all bulbous and bloated looking. A mate of mine down under has just bought this beauty

Congrats to your choice and order Of course it feels sad to separate from such a nice car and long term companion as your 356, but i'm confident you will have a lot of fun with the new 4/4.
Back in 2004, you could have picked up one of these classic 911s – the vintage equivalent of a modern day 911 GT3 RS – for the same as a brand new 911. Now, the collectable nature of these cars has seen the RS 2.7 model become the best classic car to invest in with an astonishing price increase of 669%.
