The stage 1 to 3 performance upgrades are tantalizingly close to being released, hopefully before Christmas. (despite my begging, Morgan does not want to sell them until they have been properly tested on a car and dynamo-ed) However this leaves me in a difficult predicament: Do I go for the 2014 batch of upgrades to the current engine which will (amongst other things) increase capacity from 121 to 127 cub inch, which involves cylinder and piston changes. or do i wait until (maybe) Morgan release a fully loaded 132 cubic inch spec which would require at least a new whole engine? http://www.sscycle.com/product/X-Wedge-S...nes-p24059.html

I guess I must not be much of a gear head. My 2012 still has more power than can be reasonably used. I can still scratch in the first four gears. Have run into a small handful of bikers with S&S hearts that have modded their beasties beyond all reason until they break...
But you go! I'll watch
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Morgan does not want to sell them until they have been properly tested Maybe the message is sinking in - design, test then release

Normally I would be all for more power. But seeing as we seem to have so many problems without any modifications, I'm with Michael H on this one. Happy for someone else to be the development mule this time

I can't believe such negativity towards power upgrades. Are most people on here, apart from Charles and Nippymog (who is seriously considering Stage 2), fully satisfied with the 80bhp offered by the stock motor? It does seem very strange when several people have modified their cars with various other 'upgrades' - some of which seem to offer dubious benefit at best
I am planning to do the MTWC challenge next year and will hold back any decision on engine and handling upgrades until the 5 Speeder classes have been agreed.
From the prices I've seen, Stage 2 looks relatively affordable, but Stage 3 (127 cu inch) is way beyond my pocket. Would also be nice to know what you will get in terms of performance gain from the various upgrades - so I am pleased that Morgan aren't selling the kits until proper testing is done and performance data is available.

Will the rest of the transmission components handle more power is a question I would be asking first.

I'm with the 'happy as it is' crowd. I can wheelspin in two gears as it is..!! For competition use I can understand the big bores. Not for me though.

I've always thought I'd like a bit more power . Now I have a new chassis , centa compensator etc , the car feels completely different .
I feel a bit more confident that it would cope with an increase , mind you the Morgan's pricing puts me off a bit ! I wonder whether other people will start offering alternative upgrades soon .
