I've ridden bikes all my life as have many other on here.
Compared to a bike the 3w is as safe as a Volvo.
I've used mine as a daily commute and now have 12000mls on the clock in one year.
Definitely make sure you get a fully sorted older model and that means a new chassis. The originals will all crack in time. Centa drive is also a must.
Get some Rukka waterproofs and wear a good flip up helmet for the cold weather
Ice won't be a big problem. You will three sixty it on dead wet leaves if you drive like an idiot and lose concentration. I have done this once. Snow would be interesting and I'm not sure I'd enjoy it.
I've had lots of problems but only once did it not get me home due to broken cam belt.
Other bits like sheared silencers can be held on with wire. Carry a tool kit.
We really ought to publish a list of tools, should cause even more debate.
Don't hestitate do it and join the rest of us infuriated but estastic morganeers

Right, 55 pages of talk morgan gone through, things I have learnt

1. You lot are a friendly bunch
2. There are morgans in the Czech Republic, useful as my brother lives there and I plan to visit on one of my trips, the roads are excellent.
3. If I go new, heated seats are a great option
4. Other people do use these daily, but is seems they live in places like California
5. Do i get an intercom system for the better halt to 'discuss' with me on a drive, and if so, factory or after market?

Heated seats are brilliant, intercom a waste of time & money..

Should I or shouldnt I seems a popular question. I have placed a deposit and are very much looking forward to the day. I have to say reading all the posts is great but does make me wonder if I might just have made a huge mistake or perhaps a £33,000 gamble. Its an awful lot of money for something that at best seems tempremental.

Time will tell of course. My own feeling is the dealer may well prove to be the key to the ownership experiance, I hope so anyway.

morgan do need to get the customer service side of things right in my mind, they may of done but I wonder how many potentail owners are put off by all the things they read on forums. It made me think twice and have read some posts over and over.

The conclusion I got from it all was the m3w isnt perfect or practical and will give some hassle but you'll fall in love with it anyway.

I think, what it amounts to is "do you feel lucky"? I've had two, and admittedly I am a bit of a wus with mileage, the first one having done around 1,200 miles and no problems at all, it even had a quiet bevel box, and the current one at a little over 2000 miles to date, and with only a replacement BB at the 1000 miles service, but no other faults apart from all the bobbins being replaced by Caterham ones, and still going strong - oh, it goes without saying that the bump steer was atrocious until I fitted the Empire Racing geometry correction kit, and it is now sublime, so whilst I still have a low opinion of the way Morgan conduct their business, the car is great, no, more than great, it is a positive icon, already.

No paul you are right. Hard work has had alot to do with it and maybe just a bit of luck along the way!
