The reason I ask is that I was listening to an article on the radio recently about driving in bright light conditions particularly when the sun is low and a driving expert recommended specialist glacier glasses or googles for open top drivers as they have the side panels and specialist filtering lenses

They are pricey but might be worth a try

Pink, given the summer temperatures that are expected this year in Australia I would be interested to know if you are still of that opinion after a 600 km drive in 40°C, top down or up (to make sure you don't get completely fried).

It was after several days on the road in a Sydney heat wave that I swore I would never buy another car without aircon.

Thanks Eric , will certainly look at some specialist eyewear , the other reason I asked about aircon was because we drove down to Southern Baveria and got held up in 30C heat on the autobahn for 4 hours , stuck together like 2 gummi bears , didn't know who or where I was after that smile

If you are stuck in stationary traffic aircon in a Morgan will be pretty weak. If the sun is strong you can get some relief putting up the hood and keeping the windows open.

I have not tried it but I have been told that you can have the hood up with the sidescreens off. Might not be a good idea at motorway speeds.

Hood up with sidescreens off is a lovely way to go if it is raining but not heavily. Quite right Gambalunga, I wouldn't recommend it on the m'way.

I have run the previous car (canvas hood) hood up / sidescreens off up motorways with no problems...
