Cumberland ok.

The Speedsters are lovely but I have a thing for the 911 profile, nowhere near the Morgan level though.

Bringing it into sausage territory the 911 = Hot Dog and the Classic Morgan = Cumberland. wink

Look at all the louvres hide

Porsche 356 Carrera Abarth GTL

Actually there was a time I really lusted after a green 911

But now I really don't like Porkers. I guess tastes change with the years. My current wish list includes a Maserati.

She doesn't have to be a blower, but those M491 curves are required to get me excited.

I've never really 'got' Porsches, so my choice is unconventional and probably irrelevant, but the great late '60s styling of the 914 appeals to me more than any other.

Oh no not the damn louvres again Peter somestick

That is a meaningful looking car that Abarth tuned one and certainly a new one to me, thanks.

What sort / model of Maserati in particular are you after or are you fairly open within the range. They certainly have made some good looking cars.

I can understand that totally you are maybe more of a Nigella fan than a Twiggy one hide

That certain muscular look about the style without doubt, one thing they must all be sporting is the Fuchs wheels though ....

Wishing you many more happy miles in your red beauty.
I'm sure I'm not alone here in saying it would be most interesting to hear the practicalities and finances involved in the actual running costs of the car.

As with many things the purchasing is the least painful part it's the on going running costs that need to be looked at and considered before you fall in love you have to determine her running costs, that's what I did 41 years ago and still going along nicely.... swmbo

Her Father ( Major RA retired ) asked me for a cow and three goats when I asked for her hand in marriage, after a brief intake of breath I replied the best I could do at the moment was a Singer Chamois with a 3rd gear selector ring shot. He was one of the nicest and naturally funny men I ever met and delivered everything as if your were on the parade ground, I miss him lots.

They were a brave move for Porsche but I seem to remember seeing quite a few around whilst working in Western Germany in the seventies.
I like them too, can't say I've seen one in a long while over here.

Thanks - they are all Porkers I think - the 928 and it's V8 appealed to me also and I expect they will start reaching for the ceiling with their prices before too long.
