Ah, yes, the thirsty V8 burble... My other car is a Bristol Brigand, 5.9 Chrysler V8 with a turbo... Now that's a marque that I have always fancied, but so far I've not indulged. Do please tell us more Julf?

Do please tell us more Julf? Not sure I should, considering the greatest fear of the company has always been that somebody finds out about them What can I say? Quirky, British, handbuilt... Should sound familiar to any Morgan owner. But the perfect quote about a Bristol is "I love what it says about me as a Bristol owner - nothing!". I love the understated-ness, the fact that nobody has a clue as to what it is. And OK, I admit it looks like an oversize Ford Capri

Juif, they look good and there is something very satisfyling about big block V8 power. Just looked at the Bistol Motor website. They seem to have gone quite modern in styling with their new 'Fighter' - and an 8 litre V10: Bristol Fighter Looking for this I also came across Bristol Motors in BC - turn out to be Morgan specialists! Will try to post some of mine soon, but meanwhile here's a classic one: There are more pics off the Bristol Owners Club site.

They seem to have gone quite modern in styling with their new 'Fighter' Well, it's their equivalent of the Aeromax A couple more pics of the Fighter here. (the google map track is generated by a program I have running on my TomTom, and another on my laptop that then maps the pics to the track - better shown off in this triplog)

In terms of reliability, how have you found Bristols? Not too bad for a British car The Bristols are actually surprisingly simple and straightforward to maintain, the only complications tend to be with the rear suspension (complicated subframe) and cooling issues with the big V8. The Brigand adds a bit of complexity with the turbo, but still not too bad. One source of problems is that everything is electrical - if you have a dead battery, the only way to open the trunk is by taking out the back of the rear seat. And as the electrics get older, expect a lot of small issues.

BTW has anyone else met with this situation. When I asked for an insurance quote through the broker in the IOM they went on line with their system to look up rates for a 2002 4/4.
"It can't be a 2002 4/4" they said "it's not on the system. It has a 2002 4/4 Le Mans but not a 4/4".
Morgan gave me a note to confirm that they definitely made 4/4s in 2002. Whilst the broker understood the situation his computer still wanted to deny the existence of 2002 4/4s.
The problem was solved by inputting the VIN. The computer then accepted that the car was as described. These days people seem to believe that a computer is always right even when it is wrong.

Welcome. The Jensen Interceptor FF was one of my early dream cars. Never did quite achieve that dream. At least the Morgan should more than make up for it
Cheers,
Steve
