Bonjour,

I’ve been shamed into saying ‘Hello’. I wouldn’t have done it but I’ve seen a fair number of the others doing it, so here I am, doing the decent thing.

The Whizzer is a 1987 4/4 4-seater, in Corsa Red, and there aren’t many people out there who have a nicer car! I, a 1948 model in grey hair, purchased her with an inheritance in 2001. The name was given by a maiden aunt, the first time she saw the car, and has stuck. As she, the maiden aunt, died earlier this year, there is no way the name is going to change now.

I have been living in France for 28+ years but still bleed English when I cut myself, which happens quite often when I work on the car. I tell myself it’s an effective technique for renewing my blood and keeps my antibodies on form. On a Monday morning, my colleagues can now tell if I’ve been working on the car over the weekend by the scars. I should mention that a couple of years ago, I got my first ½ spanner under the Haynes system.

Le Mans is in my GPS for irregular visits to the 24 Hours and the Classic weekends. The Whizzer’s front passenger seat and a good sleeping bag make for a tolerable night’s sleep.

Voila, that’s a pretty full picture.

A bientot.

Not sure the message got through, but at great personal cost and suffering, I have vanquished the beast and managed to upload a photo.
Bon weekend,
CBK.

Welcome CBK and thanks for publishing a photo of the Whizzer.

We have always given this name to the smallest car that we own, and thus currently our 'Whizzer' is a Mitsubishi i-Car. Maybe, with you permission, we can transfer the name to our Morgan next year?

Anyway, welcome once again and I hope that you current 'Bonjour' is not a valedictory performance and consequently, look forward to your further posts. coffee

À bientôt
Brian

Bonjour,

Not the same method of attribution and anyway our smallest doesn't whizz any more!
Tha name you give doesn't depend on me, but on you and particularly on the car. Some are pudd'ns and don't inspire, while others have to be christened (does one still say that?).

You'll get postings from me, off and on, as I lurk and don't get worked up about every topic that passes by.
Actually, while you're here, yo might have a word with the lad in the glasses and tatty pullover, because there are moments when the reponse times become lead times - I'm left staring at dodger in the tab heading whirling round and round and nothinghappens for several minutes.
Is it me,

A bientot,

Christopher.

Bonjour, kin,

No, to tell the truth, but then I haven't seen any.
Send me a suitable link and I'll let you know.

Christopher.
