I drove a 4/4 75th Anniversary model today. What a great car. In a back to back drive with the Plus 4 I found the steering very light and the car handled quite nicely. A very easy car to drive. I was quite surprised at the throttle response and the car accelerated very smartly from about 3,000 rpm.
Does anyone know if the diff ratio is the same as the Plus 4? I wondered if it was the same ratio at the 1600 4/4 to give a faster acceleration with a lower final drive ratio.
I am told that the narrow body Plus 4 GDI is attracting a lot of attention with many orders being placed. Now I can understand why.

... well, it seems it's down to "lesser is more' in the end... It does have the same 3,73:1 ratio as the standard +4 & the standard 4/4. Imagine it with the optional 4.11:1... & you are there

I would like to think that we have had some influence over that on TM. There are many fans of the narrow body Plus 4 on here.
Phil Ledgerwood still has a white 4/4 Anniversary with minimal miles if anybody is looking for one.

If I didn't have kids, the narrow body plus 4 is the one I would certainly lust for

I drove the +4 GDi at the factory the other week and was really impressed with the power and could well imagine how lovely a narrow body +4 would be. Iftherewas spare money about I think it is only that model that would make me change from my 4/4. After 205 miles of top fun today through North Wales that says something.

Can someone please explain, what is a narrow body +4?
Is it a 4/4 body with a 2 litre motor?

Yes, more or less. The actual body is the same width on all trads built today. The width of the mudguards is narrower because it is fitted with narrower wheels and tyres (like the 4/4). This makes the overall width of the car narrower.

Earlier 4/4 were also slightly narrower across the body of the cockpit by I think c 5 inches.
