The Avons are impressively expensive. Perhaps this could become an alternative choice?:

BTW does anyone drive his regular 4/4 on 185/70/15?

Another Q, I'm wondering if I could order a new 4/4 with Vredestein Classics 165/80/15 instead of Contis? (Tomorrow my dealer will reply on this as well).

I'll be changing to those Vredesteins when the time is right.

I have Vreds on and I think they are great. But I think that they are slightly wider than 185 and on the odd occasion they have kissed the rear arches (have taken measures to restrict suspension movement). My rear arches are quite narrow. Between 25.5 and 26cm at the top (inner wood to out side). Will buy them again next time.

About 12mm more radius (ground clearance) than the standard 195/60 R15 tyres fitted to the Plus 4.

regarding your plus 4 you should need a 195/65/15 to achieve a comparable height. I only have found winter tyres of this dimension.

If you have 6.5J rims why not to try 205/65/15?

205s would be wider than the mudguards. Michelin, Toyo, and Bridgestone all make pretty good 195/65 R15 summer tyres in H or V rating. The only thing is they have a slightly higher load rating at 91.
