Probably less than 5 years old. The build quality was truly dreadful in those days.

He shows very clearly how badly made they were at that point, just like most cars of the time!
Cars built after the mid to late 90s have:
1. Stainless steel bulkhead and inner wing
2. Galvanised chassis
3. Cuprinol treated wood
4. Aluminium wings, bonnet and cowl
5. Bodies painted wings off so the beading can be kept oiled.
6. Underseal
Taken together they are far better constructed and shouldn't ever need the sort of restoration the old cars need.
I think the changes made by MMC at that point were fundamental to quality and are probably one reason why we are still buying Mogs.
But the world doesn't stand still and in my view now the time has come for another "Quality Step"!

Mine had to be restored in 2000/ 2001 and still looks "As new " today It prob looked as bad as the one in the video before the restoration !   A "Proper Job" wings off/ waxoil/ etc was done. Like it should have been done at the factory when new

1 came in with long doors cars in 97.
My 97 short door +4 has ali wings & body but not the cowl
the chassis was galavanised & the car undersealed
