The exhausts have been sorted, meaning, MMC sent us a 3rd set. We'll see how many miles it will last (I still think they should let an engineer have a look at the Brooklands exhausts and the way they are mounted, I bet they'd save a few pounds ... )
The front suspension (hitting the headers) is the problem that still remains - annoyingly, and inexplicably - unadressed.
I've been avoiding the temptation to post here because I don't want to sound too negative about it, because indeed this car is the ultimate "motoring pleasure" to own and drive. The problem is ...
... MMC is simply doing "it" wrong. I will remain quiet until I sort this suspension issue with them, and hope to return to more frequent posting after that gets done.
Our regards to you and all the Paddymogs in Ireland, the southern branch hopes one day you guys come down here so we can (try to) be as welcoming to you as you were to us!
Got back from KL on Thursday with galloping jet lag and a vicious head cold so didn't get out in the wee car till today. Had a very pleasant run over the hills in the usual Aberdeenshire sunshine which served to blow away a fair few cobwebs. Stopped to take a few snapshots;
Great shots as usual Calum, I'm learning something from your style, but whether I can put it into practice is another thing.
Why is it that whenever one travels long haul these days, a cold/cough always follows?
Thanks Paul Style? f8 and be there - you just need some landscape and somewhere convenient to stop!
In fairness I think I probably took the beginnings of the head cold over to KL with me, fermented it for a week in the heat and humidity then got on the long haul flight back. Not a good combination all told.
Today I did some milage to visit Austrian vineyards close to the Czech border. It started as a pleasure trip with sunshine, 15°C, perfect small bendy roads, driving across undulating areas with small, sleepy villages and barely any other traffic. Everything was perfect till the wind freshened up, got stronger and stronger and finally blew +50mph. Interesting conditions.. The Mog shifted a little bit, but nothing spectacular regarding side drift or unsafe handling. Nevertheless pleasure was gone driving home for more than a hour against the wind, without a full face helmet and the relative windspeed of some 100mph... An other experience completed and it was worth doing it!
