Gentleman, need your help and advice. Due to a broken doorhandle cable, I had to disassemble the Aero's door. Now I know how to dismantle the doors, I'm gonna try to fix my door top aligment. I've made some pictures, because I've noticed there are no screws in the middle bottom strut. Is this normal or a part of the problem?  Here are the holes, no screw to be seen.  Or should I get some extra rubber between this brace so the top would move more inward?  Take a look at the misalignment on the driver side and you'll see why I'm so eager to fix it. Lots of windnoise!  So if any of you guys can give me some advice (Cerealsurfer?), shoot!  Thanks!

Alignment is way out of true isn't it! From the photos the screw holes do not appear to marry up with other holes? In 2nd photo is that a slim piece of foam on the doorskin? if so is this to stop vibration overall or is it a buffer that the vertical strut should be positioned against? Moving the strut against this foam would pivot the top inwards. Has Yuri had any experience (he removed the door handles) or did the alcohol kill off the relevant memory cells? In the last photo there appears to be a "corner" added to your hood material - what's that about?  Best of luck with the reconstruction

In 2nd photo is that a slim piece of foam on the doorskin?Very good observation! Just went to the garage for a quick look, it's a small piece of foam, I guess it should touch the strut. Otherwise it would have no use there. In the last photo there appears to be a "corner" added to your hood material - what's that about?I have two of those! Each corner is strengthened with a patch of leather. I thought this was standard? Best of luck with the reconstructionThank you sir!  The car will be off the road for a month to sort some niggles and make some modifications. I blame Yuri. His project triggered a nerve.

Gentlemen!!!Could you please do not present me as an alcoholic and distractable person.I am trying my best to sort out the problems witch is common to our cars ,and I have no responsibility for the people who crafted this cars having hangover.My workshop in Hants lane Stratford E15 London.Everybody welcome to fix something.No charge.All tools , ramp ,tig welder,lot of space + my Morgan still in pieces ,have a look.We found a solution.Spudgun tomorrow I have a look and tell you what is wrong.I cannot tell from a top of my head because I done lot of work trying to fix all the flops.

O.K. My door is different.But it free floating no screws.Now, when the car develop this problem?Is it slowly develop it or suddenly?By looking at the photo I cannot identify the problem and come up with a solution.You have to establish why it's happen.Look for wear,deformation,or other signs of a problem.Operate mechanism and pay attention.Find the root of the problem.Dismantle other door and compare.Try to fix it without additional rubber.Sorry cannot be a help.

Thanks for the effort, Yuri!  The misalignment was already there when I purchased the car. Probably due to wear. I'll keep looking for a solution, another advice I had was to take the glass out and give the strut a good jank.

That may not sound as bad as you think...I was once at the factory, and saw one of the craftmen whom fitted a sidescreen to a brand new Trad, the sidescreen did not aligned with the windscreen pillar, he promptly grabbed the top of the sidescreen with both hands and yanked it forward, until it align with the A-pillar. He saw my gobsmacked expression on my face  and gave me a cheeky wink  I just burst out laughing

LOL  It would seem a pair of steeltoe capped boots and a block of wood are the essential tools for the factory
