Hi, Having had my morgan +8 for a few months it appears to have developed a fault, or maybe driver error? For some reason my morgan +8 can start first time, be driven for an hour, then once stopped briefly to shop it simply turns over but doesn't start. It does eventually start but with persistence. Not sure if its the spark plugs, or I've accidentally left the choke on without knowing. Quite baffled as the knobs & pull levers underneath the dash do not describe their use. So being a newbie to Morgans and not very mechanically minded require some help! Any advice greatly appreciated. Robin

Sorry not very clear. Basically if I stop the engine after been running for a good amount of time, it struggles to start again. Then other times its ok. But certainly not right.

Sounds like a vapour lock in the fuel lines to the carbs (if carbed)

What year? Carbs or injection? The ignition module on the side of the distributor is known to fail.

If the engine fails to start after running for a good amount of time, think about components that are affected by heat such as distributor rotor, cap, etc. Will the engine start immediately or a short tine after switching off? If it will then fuel vapourisation may well not be your problem.

Your car will have a distributor. Personally, I'd look at the ignition module, check the connections, coil lead connections, distributor rotor and the cap. Don't forget the fuel pump as it operates at high pressure for fuel injection. Can you hear a difference when you turn on the ignition from hot and cold as in hear the fuel pump or not?

I bet you anything your still running the twin old brown fuel relays. These need to be changed to the update black Bosch versions. First place I would start every time
