If the rear sprocket/pulley on the rear wheel is worn and needs to be replaced, is that covered by warranty? I've read in posts here that several people have had to have it replaced but not saying if it was a warranty item or not. The dealer decided mine needed replaced at 13000km and it was quite a large addition to the invoice

My sprocket and hub was changed at about 6,000 km just before warranty expired last month (it was making a terrible shrieking noise, although it hadn't actually broken) and the dealer did it as a warranty item, but I don't think they have been paid by Morgan. The later hub and sprocket replaced the earlier one.
The whole thing was odd as the dealer initially told me that they had been given clearance to do it as a warranty item (after the car was serviced and the noise had got a lot worse!) but when the job was done a few weeks later Morgan wouldn't cover it.
Sounds a bit dodgy and I expect I only had it done "free of charge" as I have a long record with the dealer and 2 Mogs serviced there regularly.
It doesn't sound as though the factory is being fair but I also expect there's an understanding between dealers and the factory that all parties need to bear some of the warranty pain as the company could otherwise go under. I've been quiet lucky with my car otherwise and had relatively few problems to date, but only 6,000 km so more will probably follow and I am out of warranty!
Like so many of us, I certainly didn't expect this sort of fight and major servicing expense (my services and 'replacements' - wishbones, Comfort steering) have so far cost £1300 or about E1500 over 4,000 mile which makes the 3W by far the most expensive car I have had in terms of running costs...

My dealer has replaced two sprockets for me all under warranty. There was never any question. Both showed major wear. Everything was set to factory specifications and the belt was eating the sprocket.
The hardness of the aluminum is at issue and this is a factory glitch. Somebody blew it.
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Agree with your summary Michael H. My replacement rear sprocket was supplied free of charge, although I fitted it myself. For some reason it had to be supplied from Morgan via the dealer I purchased the car from, so not sure who actually paid for it, either way it wasn't me. The sprocket was worn out at 3500 miles. As the replacement is exactly the same as the original I expect the replacement to last about the same, less than the life of the rear tyre. Currently trying (and failing) to get an answer from Morgan about availability of a more durable sprocket as this is not fit for purpose and is only designed to get me past the end of my warranty as far as I can see.

My sprocket was due to be changed under warranty at 2,300 miles but my dealer got fed up waiting for Morgan to OK it so went ahead on their own.
I hope they got the claim reimbursed retrospectively as it isn't fair for Morgan to pass warranty costs for known problems down to their dealers.
