More Regulatory BS. Just what I need, more “nanny state” crap. I do not need more regulations to make my life “safe”. I have lived to be damn near 70 years old without this kind of “help”. And yes, I do have and use off road utility vehicles on a daily basis on the ranch. Hell, I am starting to fell like I am living in one of those “enlightened” socialist societies. http://www.polaris.com/en-us/atv-ranger-rzr/cpsc-rulingAnother Rant Over [again, for the moment]

The problem is that this type of three wheeler, the reverse trike, has not really been manufactured in any numbers for over 50 years and as such there has been little or no legislative framework for it in most countries.
In some places it is a bike and you must have a bike licence and wear a helmet, in others it is a car and you must have a car licence and the homologation regulations treat it as a car.
The situation with motorcycle or scooter derived trikes, with bike controls and handlebars is much more clearcut.
Personally I see the M3W more as a car but believe the reverse trike with car controls needs special consideration in the regulations. A regime that places it half way between a car and a bike for homologation, and a car driver's licence if it has car controls.

Bad news Spirit indeed...
So I wonder, are we "grandfathered" since our cars are already registered? It does give one cause for concern on resale in Texas however...
