Hi all,

I have a question, concerning the anti-tramp bar, installed on my Roadster II.

In February, its rear fixing bolt (the one on the axle) broke. After having fixed it, my dealer said, the new bolt would last forever, because before it was "under tension" and now it isn't anymore.

Well, "forever" turned out to be a pretty short time, because today, 9 month later, the bolt broke again.

I want to point out that both times it happened during normal (not "enthusiastic") driving.

Anyone else experienced such a situation? Any ideas what could be done, so it will not happen again?

Unfortunately I don't have a picture of my bar, but here is a description with pictures.

The Roadster II has just one, on the right side.

As I can see your tramp bar is adjustable.If it too long,or too shot, the bolt will be "under tension".My best guess will be wrong length.Compare both of them and readjust the one which shire the bolt.

Not too sure I like the blocks whether needed or not, often I find that when this sort of kit fitted one side is done up tight first then the other, this sort of kit requires everything to be absolutely square then done up tight, also there needs to be some precision such that the whole assembly is square and right

I don't understand, why Morgan only fits one bar....

Hum hum... The broken bolts were on the same side each time?

(this kind of question give the impression I have something interesting to say "behind my mind" about this problem... :-) )

The car comes with just one single anti-tramp bar.

hhhmmm.... not sure that's right.. .thought you should have 2 and also a Panhard Rod to keep the Axel laterally located..(this BTW could possibly cause enough angular load to snap the head off the bolt?)

They all come with just one. ...a design problem?
