Don't be narrow-minded! My first car - back in the seventies - was a Triumph Spitfire. It was great fun, had lots of torque, no one else had one here so it was exclusive too.(Then downside: as a young lad with average income I could not afford all the repair costs. I had to sell it when warranty was over because of the poor quality. ) Its not only Morgan which provides fun and a smile in the face, even an old Volkswagen Cabrio Beetle could make the trick, depending on personal taste. Not narrow minded just comparing Morgans with the current sportscars and reports, which was Peter's original post. I had a Triumph Vitesse Mk2 Convertible which had similar underpinnings to the Spitfire. Loved the SAH tuned 6 cylinder engine and a surprisingly practical car. It would turn on a sixpence and was fun to drive.

We just are not their traditional audiance.
They are a business
They have a target audiance (in order to then sell themselves to advertising spots)
They have a position relative to other advertisers
Align all of those and see how a Morgan fits into the profile of that magazine.
Evo likes to be off-beam and so Morgan fits in.
What Car is solid and predictable - not likely to go over the top on an M3W generally is it ?
Autocar and the M3W surprised me, in a good way.
I love it when they write about a car and don't realise that the vendor is not really worried about UK sales and has totally designed it for the EU or French or US markets and so the choices are biased to that decision. Same issue.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I'm still looking for a single car to replace the BMW Estate and Mercedes E Coupe in about 18 months. Must be/have:
1. 4 wheel drive
2. Able to seat more than 2 people
3. Able to carry a saddle or 2 bails of wood shavings (36" x 20" x 20" each
4. Be a fun, enjoyable drive
5. Not be a truck
6 Cost new less than £50K

May or may not live up to point 4. as different versions of the same generation Golf can vary in the 'sparkle' department. I tried really hard to love a Gen 1 R32 and sold it when I couldn't get around its heavy slow-witted cornering, despite the stunning turn of speed, sound effects, build quality etc.
