Just remembered - driving the Mog to the NEC last Thursday.At the Belfry roundabout there was a tanker coming the other way - a company that empties septic tanks - "SUCK CESS" - brilliant.

Here in Derby we have a hairdresser`s called " Curl Up and Dye"
For myself - I`ve always wanted to open a Kwik - Fit type of place called "Tyred & Exhausted".
In Oldham my brother saw a van on the side of which it said "Singh & sons - Builders. You`ve had the cowboys - now try the Indians!"
Finding these gems sometimes makes driving through a town almost worthwhile.

There's a shoe shop on the Kings Road called R Soles and there's also (or used to be) a chinese restaurant on the same street called Ho Lee Fook.

I still like the London-based rubbish disposal company Carter, Whey and Tippit.

And Private Eye's apocryphal solicitors Sue, Grabbit and Runne.

There used to be (may still be) a sofa shop on the King's Road in Fulham called Recline and Sprawl.

Not forgetting, of course, the hardware stockist specialising in architectural ironmongery and door furniture, also in that part of the world: Knobs and Knockers.

That brings back memories my late uncle Jimmy who was more bent than me had a wet fish shop in the 1950s . Him and the local fruiter a couple of comics . The fruiter put in his shop window Fresh Apples and they are Fresh . My uncle Jimmy not to be beaten but Lemon Soles and the Are Soles .
My cousin told me this year her dad had one women who drove him crazy . She asked for one to be filleted he did that for her and she said " I am not having that its shrank do me another". He did and she repeated her words , " I am not having that its shrunk ". He picked up a third sole and slapped her across the face with it. Funny she still stayed a customer but never tried it on again.

Used to be two speed boats in Tynemouth area with Just a quicky on the side of one . The other had a painting of a bloke swimming under water beneath was painted the name , muff diver.
