"wait, where are these slightly used M3Ws which are being quoted as around $25K?!? I have yet to see this."

No, not 25,000 bucks, but 25,000 pounds sterling, that would make it around 37,000 greenbacks.

I've had my M3W advertised on Pistonheads for the last 3 months for £25,995, [which obviously means I would accept £25k] with hardly a single serious inquiry, and traded it in against the Plus 4, for £25k, I heard only tonight that the dealer is planning to advertise it for £28k with its' 2,600 miles and quiet bevel box and all. Ce la vie.

I'm hoping the M3W will bottom out at low £20's K and then start to creep back up a bit ONCE there are known fixes for all the issues, whether Morgan makes them or someone else. Expect that Morgan will get the Lotus Elise situation where there are enough cars out there for the wonderful loons like us who buy them but demand will reduce significantly unless they can continually develop new overseas markets and I doubt that will happen to the extent they would like...

So, a nice M3W at low £20's K or dollar equivalent is possibly a good buy if you are prepared to enjoy its foibles and wait for the fixes to creep along.

Just hope they sort the increasing engine issues as this is one source of extra hassle and cost I don't think anyone was really expecting even a year ago.

The problem is that a lot of the early cars have done very low mileages andso many of the problems wont arise until they are out of warranty . Like Matty I am fortunate (?!) in having had a new chassis and other upgrades , but now we are out of warranty further development work will be at our own expense !

Anyone buying an early car out of warranty can expect some large bills , I dread to think what replacing a chassis would cost .

I bought an extended warranty for my M3W...three years cover cost £800..not a bad insurance blanket.

Overall its a crying shame that the M3W has had/still has ongoing serious issues.

One of my major concerns was the prospect of the chassis cracking.

This would be a nightmare....its a total rebuild job..must cost £000s scared

I will try to find out.

Maybe I'm being optimistic but haven't heard much about chassis cracking recently so hoping it's gone away wink

Of course, if MMC were to be asked about chassis breakages, they would deny any knowledge of it happening.

speaking of falling off point with pricing, it will be interesting to see where the M3W ends up in the secondary market. It would seem that most people who want a M3W would rather spend the money to have theirs just so. I would presume there will be a great disparity between new and used cars eventually.

Probably means he would discount or over-allow around £500, then hold a chunk of the profit back against future rectification. Not sure if I was a dealer, that I would want £25k tied up in an M3W (even Paul's immaculate and sorted one) over the winter period.
But whoever buys it will get a lovely car.

I was seriously considering a secondhand one and would have purchased ( maybe even pauls which i did see advertised) had i not found this forum!

Finding out about all the "issues" with them was a real surprise to say the least. After weighing up all the pros and cons i decided a 2014 new car with a warranty was the best bet. This was despite me not really wanting to spend much over £25K. I factor in that a decent dealer may well prove to be invaluable in sorting out any little or big problems i may encounter.

I'm really pleased this forum exists but it doesn't exactly help the demand or values of used examples! As such its great that owners have the decency to make the issues public even if it does hurt the value of the very expensive and wonderful toy sitting in their garage!

That's the thing Andy, I think we would rather be honest about our cars than pull a veil down over the whole thing. Probably as much to do with the factory not admitting faults exist, as us wanting to shout about the problems.

I had a long chat with a potential buyer of my car a couple of days ago, and told him that it was available from Newtown for £28k, he went for a look, but ended up saying he would rather pay the extra £4,000 for a new one, I couldn't argue and agreed, that in his position I would do the same. Such a shame for owners of original cars though.
