Something that isn't likely to happen again, I drove both my Morgans!!

Aldermog took us through the rain to Williams, where we took a last look, said "good bye and thanks for the memories" and then we turned to pay attention to our new Plus 8 Auto.

Formalities concluded and a largish void in the bank account we returned through monsoon like rain. Inside we remained warm and dry, the ride is certainly a lot more refined than our Roadster.

Given the water on the road, 4 new Avon zz3s and my inexperience I drove with due care. But there is a maniac lurking! This is a torque monster: Mons of the 60 miles back the time the car stayed in 6th at about 12oo rpm maintaining 60 mph up hill and down. A couple of times I passed trucks when the box droped to 4th and we went past very smartly!

clear weather here in the North West of England today so it was 'Bring your Morgan to work day'

strangely enough it wasn't that popular or well supported by my colleagues as they didn't bring theirs !!!

About to set off back home. 11 miles but I'm not going motorway as it's flippin' freezing and I nearly lost my hat (again) this morning so I will go through busy Preston, get caught at every set of traffic lights, join the queues and let the heater hopefully warm my legs listening to some loud Northern Soul with the sub-woofer turned to 11! (Spinal Tap reference)

Just to get back on topic, I haven't driven my Morgan since August (due to having PX'd it for one of these apparently dodgy engined GDI's).

I'm seriously thinking of winding the windows down in my saloon car and driving through a car wash for a bit of nostalgia!

Took Tarka out today.

It is a seductive beast. Mostly she burbles along quickly, but as long as the revs stay below 2000, without much drama.

But press the loud pedal, especially in sport mode, and there is a growl, rather like a large bear complaining of being woken, followed by a shove in the back and as the car gains speed in an improbably manner.

Aldermog the Roadster seemed fast when not actually going that fast. Tarka is just bl**dy fast! I shall have to be a bit more careful.

No Morgan today but a little stir up of her GTI, nice run out to Plymouth to deliver Heather and another of her colleagues to a day seminar in the town.

I took full advantage of the trip to meet up for a lazy lunch and catch up with Pete (recycled teenager) at his local. An impressive lunchtime snack and great company.
That new AMG of yours is an extremely well appointed and rapid bit of kit Pete.
Another observation is that it matches your new kitchen in both hue and level of appointment, very tasteful and well worth the aggravation.
