Anyone else seen James Martin's review of the Aeromax in today's Mail on Sunday. Seems it' not just the wife's legs that sidepipes can burn... he got his chef's mits singed!!. Also has the Batman analogy..... However he still loved it.... And I think he may have given us the ultimate Aeromax (and Aero) metaphor..... "The nearest you can get to a Spitfire on the road"... Full article HERE

Good article, although short and as you said Phil, touches on the same easy journalism - flat caps for Trads and Batman for the Max.
He also mentions the poor quality stereo, which I have to admit is a weak point of all Aeros. It's a shame Morgan haven't worked with LINN, Arcam, or the like, to make a bespoke system for the AeroMax and futures Aeros.

My car is fitted with a non standard system, Clarion with a refernce number I can t remember and optional sub woofer.
The thing works with USB, Ipod, bluetooth for mobile and has a folding screen for GPS
There are two speakers in the doors, two in the boot and two above the windscreen
It works quite well in my view and I am quite demanding on that front, having a nice system home and in other cars

I think as well that he had the early Aeromax with the prototype/unfinished auto set-up and there have been a number of tweaks to the autobox prior to it going in the customer aero's and Max's

I can t remember if I specifcally specified the Clarion. When I ordered the car the only information I had was that a stereo was fitted and an upgraded woofer was avaliable
I wanted a GPS and a blue tooth system. When sending the spec sheet I did put a link to a couple of websites of make doing such equipments, asking for these or an equivalent
No idea what the standard is?

Hmph, Clarion... I think a Morgan deserves something more unique, more British, more quirky, and more bleeding edge and anachronistic at the same time... This is what I have in my 4/4: empeg

This is what I have in my 4/4: empeg Julf, before seamless iPod integration, I could see the merit of this system (and the competitors). Do you still feel they offer the same benefit when nearly all good quality head units offer iPod links (and you can use FLAC files)?

MMC went over to clarion for the aeromax and are now using their stuff across the range, very happy with fitment in the aero much better than the blaupunkt setup they fitted to the plus4
