Good news, but hope he eventually ends up in Sportscars, like Mark Webber.

The right choice.
He performed exceptionally this year with a car that was way off pace early on.
At the end of the season he was one of the best non Merc drivers.
Hopefully Honda engines will be up to standard.

McClaren now have 2 top drivers and it is only the car/tech/politics that will be the hurdles to overcome!
This year's F1 developed into an interesting year despite the initial Merc dominance and stupid double points.
A teasing race between Hamilton and Rosberg at the front.
The others provided some great racing behind.
Shame about Marusia and Caterham but that has been the history of F1 anyway.....teams coming and going.
Remember the likes of Vanwall/Scarab/Connaught?
Williams have been my team of the year...what a turn- round from last year!
This year too many ££££££££££ changes with new engines has obviously caused money issues.
FormulaE next......saw the initial race and was impressed, despite the lack of awesome sound!
I nearly hot run over by the Morgan E car at Shelsley in 2013......

Couldn't be more happy to hear that JB will be racing F1 next year. A totally descent chap and very quick when the car is set up the way he likes it.

Just a tad concerned that the new Honda power unit won't be as fast or reliable, out of the box, as the Mercedes unit. But McLaren - Honda worked well in the past, so fingers crossed!

Now need to see 2 Brits on the podium 1st and 2nd . Three if another pops up .

I am glad it is both of them.

I think Alonso is a good team player from my observations and the two of them should work well together as they are both mature logical people.

I am more surprised that Alonso went back to McLaren after the famous way it fell out last time with the spygate scandal but that shows he is pragmatic and mature I hope.

He drove the wheels of the Ferrari last year and his consistent points score should work well for the initial development of the new car/engine.

Not certain what to expect from next year. Certainly not an engine note to match our Mogs and sidepipes. The Coupe sounds better than all of them put together.

From what I read and heard (BBC TV) Alonso and Button are good friends and have a lot of respect for each other.
Looking forward to 2015 season with Honda having a lot of catching up to do.
