The 225/40 18's have just about seen out the season. I have been pleased with their performance both wet and dry and they are fairly quite.

Would any of you recommend a change or should I stick with the Avons ? listening

The 19" Avons on my Plus 8 seem to work well, they are exactly as you describe them and here in the UK are usually rather cheaper than the other premium brands.

Like the Morgan they are made in the UK!

Trman.Stick with the avons if you like them,i must be the only person on here that think toyos are rubish 5000 mls on the rear my local tyre guy said he had Bmws in with just over 3000mls he was bragging up the verdsteins.I put pirellis on my previous aero and gave good wet grip and mileage just went with toyos because of the forum, just recently put new pirellis on cant comment on track use but they seem much better in the wet, sometimes its better to stick with what you know

I put Toyo Proxes boots on and 18000m later still going strong.........perhaps I did not go fast enough, or round corners. As for sticking to Avons I guess it is personal choice but I found they did not stick :snowcool:

Our local council seem to like tarring everything and chippins as a top layer, another reason i dont like toyos it has a wide tread pattern and chippins lodge in them all over the tyre not good on an ali car.Hopwood the roads must be better where you live cos 18000 miles on the back of an aero is brilliant on any tyre.

Just changed my Avon 18" ZZ3 this summer to the new Avon 18" ZZ5. ZZ3 no longer available...

Tread pattern quite different but overall the new tyre seems a good deal better, and quite usefully on the Mog runs pretty quiet. Having said that I bet the Toyo or a Yoko has better grip but there was concern from my dealer that some of these rub on wings as tyre profile can be different. I'm surprised about this but respect their views.

I thought the steering felt better too...
