There I was asking about Muirhead, when I found from the chassis record that my car has 'Yarwood leather'.

So, can anyone help me identify what range of Yarwood leather that Morgan used? And what Yarwood might have called what we all know as 'mulberry'?

cheers, Colin

The Yarwood Mulberry in my 2009 car is called "Jam". Not the most romanic of names!

Morgan describe the leather in my car as Yarwood "Loom", Code No DA 209. I strongly suspect that this is a Morgan description, designed to hide the actual product as described by the maker.

In a similar way they describe the paint used as Rolls Royce Bronze, Code 12JYB but this isn't a Rolls Royce Code....this I have checked with a couple of paint specialists.

Keith asked about where I got my chassis record....

There is a link on the Morgan site to order these. My advice is - DONT!

http://www.morgan-motor.co.uk/technical/chassis_record_new.phtml

I remember when I bought my first Morgan and I think these records were knocked out (featuring the genuine signature of Charles Morgan!) for about £30. There is now a charge of £75 to cover 'research and compiling'.

The earlier record told me useful things such as the actual colour of the car. This one tells me that the car is 'black' with Yarwood leather. The engine number is unknown and that it was apparently shipped in December 2005 - although registered in January 2005 (go figure).

So I have more info on my V5 than there is on this £75 record.

I shall be sending it back, and requesting a refund on simple 'Sale of Goods Act' principles.

cheers, Colin
