Love the stuff. Dont get enough of it in South Wales. If your carefull it can be a great way to hone your driving skills.

As young men my mate in his 998cc Hillman Imp and me in my Cortina used to go to a huge car park in a closed caravan park on the beach banks . It was about the size of Wembley football pitch in snow we met up with other lads and tried to learn some skills . The local police used to pull up then just stand and chat we had several flasks of tea etc . Last year when pulling up near a junction I skidded on sheet ice and it was at walking pace . I thought " OH hell my front end is going towards that car on the other side " I flicked its back end out so the sides of the tyres had to slide against the ice . It stopped. I have felt for many years it should be part of learning to drive also to think while you drive and not panic. Love the stuff. Dont get enough of it in South Wales. If your carefull it can be a great way to hone your driving skills.

Perhaps a skid pan course should be part of driving lessons...

What's snow? Due to be 39 degrees C here tomorrow!
Great shots. This is snow. (taken from the sitting room window of my ski flat).  36 hours beforehand, all of this was green. The dump of snow caused carnage on the roads in the Northern Alps on Saturday, with some folk trapped in their cars for hours, with many being put up in makeshift accommodation in school gymnasiums & the like. Mind you, thank goodness that it's arrived at last; the ski season was looking very shaky. That's quite something. Enjoy the skiing.
