I'm more a Hurricane man myself - the spitfire is just a bit too modern for my tastes - all those pointy wings, curvy bubble cockpits and tiny tail fin.

But then what do I know, I'm a four wheeler

I remember flying in them when the ATC used them: Tangmere about 1965.....they were not exactly performance!

Planenut with the bomb doors open it looks like its just given birth,brilliant photo my wife and i were there in the summer a great day out and very atmospheric,we were also lucky enough to see the hurricane spitfires and lancaster take off and land with the memorial flight up the road how lucky were we

They were still using them at RAF Cosford in the 1970's when I was in the ATC and did a 20 flight Pre Pilot Training course.
