I had a VW that had a Tracker fitted, they used one of the wires from the rear light cluster this put a small draw on the ECU and stopped it shutting down, hence the battrey went flat, it you have had an aftermarket tracker fitted I would try removing the fuse that is fitted to the unit first, as I would guess Morgan would check the battrey draw as one of their pre sale checks.

Aeromax, have you resolve your problem yet?

I could be wrong Whomever fitted your tracker weren't doing it properly(or just lazy), all alarms, trackers or audio equipment should use main power(via fuse box or direct from battery with in-line fuse)

No I didn t have time to work on the car, and the garage was sub zero degree for the last ten days...

Just used the car a few times, having used the master switch at the end of the fuse box

I will drive to Paris tomorrow and drop the car for maintenance at Morgan France, and I guess they will sort this out

The tracker is the suspect I guess, albeit I am not sure the frst flat battery issue occured right after the tracker was fitted. From memory it was a couple of weeks later.

Will keep you posted when I will collect the car

BTW, it is a delight to drive, just love it!

Did you had a bad experience with them?

Yes, but many years ago.

More recently the ex-owner of my current car (who lived in Paris) advised me that he had experienced problems and afterwards would only take the car to Belgium for work.

I also have a very low opinion of their views on Aero8s given the write-up on buying a used Aero8 that featured in the avril 2008 Sport Auto magazine with erroneus comments from one of their staff. If you don't have a copy of this article I can send it to you.

I do my own maintenance and if I have an engine problem that I cannot diagnose use a friend's diagnostic computer to resolve.

Of course your Aeromax is under warranty so I presume that may affect how you deal with any problems. Anyway good luck getting it sorted.

I will pick the car by the end of the week and see what happens.

I was surprised this morning, as I was told that a battery runing flat on a Max with 3 days of storage is 'acceptable'

And I was suggested not to wire a masterswitch but use the fuse box one, for aestethic reasons as well as not drilling the scuttle

I usually do my maintenance as well, and if too complex, go to the garage that assembled Caterham for years and is nearby.

They also use to import Lambo's in the eighties and have still a significant business in restoring Muira's. They claim to have somehow rebuilt over 70% of them. Impressive to see cars flown from Japan for maintenance in France...

May be that is what Aero stands for. Car needing to be flown back for maintenance?

Did the dealership tell you this?

I am in little doubt that Morgan would not agree with this and would be happy to put you in touch with someone at the factory if you need clarification.
