My wee +4 has developed an issue with the lights: no indicators or headlights ( on either beam), sidelights are ok, hazards are ok. It seems to be the switch that's failed, is there any way I can test before I order a new unit? And any suggestions where I can get a replacement?

Check fuses/ relays first
I can't help with which ones as my car is old and very different
but fuses and relays are more likely than switch gear

Worth a look at the small strip on the under bonnet bulkhead, drivers side on UK cars. I had an indicator failure on my 08 +4 and after checking all the under dash fuses I checked the under bonnet strip, more in hope than anything, sure enough one of those was blown and that's all it was. Why they would wire it this way is something known only to Marshians and MMC ;-)

Seems pretty random that indicators and lights are common wired, I'll have a look in daylight, thanks

A couple of years ago I had a problem with the sidelights - the switch was at fault on the steering column - the connectors had drooed out as they had not been put in properly - for once a Ford switch problem & not an MMC one. MMC sorted it on warranty.

I had a similar problem which turned out to be the bullit connectors under the wing look to be straight out of 1960's mini and collect all the muck off the wheels.
