Fog light thread drift approaching..................... I've been poorly sick since Sunday and museing about storage solutions and fog light positions. I have considered converting the stop tail lights to become fog guards. Can that be done and how since they are double filament already. I already have low guards on the number plate carrier but as you already observed Gerry it is a very low position and our local drivers do like to get close which is why my third brake light is on the roll bar.

Stop on. I have been scratching my brain about this for some time. What type of light, how to mount it, etc. Your solution is very neat. http://www.bikermart.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=255-905-6

You don't have to have a high level brake light fitted. It's classed as an additional light. Where connected it must work. Not having one is not an MOT failure.

I see that no-one has picked up on converting side/stop lights to fog guards yet. It may be that it can't be done. When I had an MGB there was a little black box with on/off switch and containing a bulb and ballast resistor wired into the sidelight feed which performed this trick: it increased the brightness of the brake lights too but I can't remember where I got it. It worked well all the time that I owned that car.
It has occurred to me to fit another torpedo light onto the back panel as log as I can keep the edge 100mm from the edge of the existing brake light. Any thoughts?

Hello Stevemog, I agree I have to do a suitcase mounted arrangement for when it is on the rack - in France it as an offence to block the light, so I must. I like your light too. I did consider the location that you are using, but I was keen not to have much exposed wiring. I even looked into threading the wires through the rack structure, but couldn't see how it could be done. Geoff's Shed at http://www.servicestar.com.au/geoffsshed/High%20Level%20Brake%20Light.htmhas another version of a similar setup. It's all six of one and half a dozen of the other and no two Morgans are exactly alike. I think it is the light unit that I found that encouraged me to get on with the job, the curved top and clean shape suited what I was looking for. Happy motoring.
