Indeed, register on their website and they will let us all know. Garage56 I bumped into the guys at the Autosport Intl at the NEC last week and they had their air-filter cover on the stand (but alas no exhausts, as the first batch are still being made apparantly), which looked good. Nice increase in space around the element for improved flow, without being too obvious. We chatted about the Stage-1 kit and how the fuelling looked when they had it on the dyno and I am relieved to hear that it was actually pretty good. It's as if the factory mapping was done before the exhausts were plugged up by regulations/noise/Type-Approval or whatever..... They added their own Wide-Band lambda's to monitor AFR's on the development car, so did a proper job on making sure the car was still safe. To be honest our cars pink/detonate enough as standard, which is already pretty dangerous and way more risky I'd suggest than curing it by fitting proper exhausts. I look forward to getting my kit and enjoying the free-flowing benefits!

It is not just the pipes at the front that get hot. The rear length after the silencer can get pretty hot too. Not good if you are wearing short trousers: just ask Raphael Or me. Had a nasty deep second degree burn on my leg the first summer. Wrapped both sides behind the heat shields shortly thereafter.
M3W, now!!!

Out of curiosity, has anyone had any problems associated with wrapped headers? I ask because there is a debate about it in many places not just Talkmog, causing failures in cars. As a M3W has exposed headers then they are far more exposed to getting wet. People say wrapping caused headers to crack etc. , so does anyone have experience, albeit stainless not cast iron. My mate is thinking of wrapping his Aero8 headers to reduce temp under the bonnet which well protected from weather so the comments R&D getting wet won't apply.

Today I did some homework on the M3W. New fuel gauge (VDO 280mm). Suddenly the petrol level rose from 0 to 46% And than I put some heat protection bandage on the Moggy. I put the bank into water first and applied it. Needs some 5 to 6 meters for each side. Have the same length on stock now... Its very impressive for the first 10 minutes drive when all the water evaporates! For later show effect it may be a cool trick to poor some water over the bandage before starting.

I cannot believe that it is going to cause problems - headers have been wrapped since the beginning of time and I have done this on at least 3 of my cars before the tricycle without any issues whatsoever. Except of course keeping the heat in the pipes, cooling the engine bay and generally seeing them do what I wanted them to do...!

I have had mine wrapped for well over a year and no ill effects. They are a bit slack in places and need tweaking up , but apart from that .....

Dab of oppo. How did you reach the inner disc (front of silencer)? I can get a hole saw in there but the silencer limits the diameter.
