- where is the radio aerial on the Aero 8 ?
I'm guessing it might use the windscreen elements but I could be wrong!
I've fitted a DAB stereo and need a DAB aerial as well as the normal FM.I can get a unit which acts as a splitter but it won't work with an amplified aerial.
If the original Aero 8 aerial is amplified therefore ,I need a different solution.
How have others solved the problem....?

I talked with Morgan about DAB Radios for my Aero Plus 8. I was told that for the Aeros they hadn't found a good solution...and for the Plus 8 they had no idea.
On the Roadster I'd found that with the single telescopic aerial on the side a powered splitter works very well indeed, so that is what I've done. Great result.
Not a lot of help, I know. One answer might be to use one of the powered "fin" antenna as used by BMW and VAG on their convertibles. They are not cheap, but they may well do a good job, better than trying to use what Morgan provide.

Radio reception on my S3 is often very dodgy but sometimes seems to work better than others - no idea why - but it certainly isn't the best reception in the world and if yours is anything like the same I expect you're going to need to start again.
I've never found an aerial so have assumed the screen is used in some way... Looking forward to finding out!

Mine and Aeromans Aeromax had DAB - it never worked particularly well though - despite being installed by some serious experts.
Radio reception is poor in Aeros. If it's really important I would take the car to a reputable car audio specialist and ask them to sort it out, but it could take some trial and error.
Having a separate antenna poking out the car would be a shame in my opinion though - I guess it depends how important radio is for you.
The alternative solution would be a Bluetooth streaming link to the stereo and Internet radio via tunein on your phone.
Personally I'd just plug in an iPod and let that handle the audio. The news can wait and satnav can give you traffic alerts without annoying interruptions to the music...

The radio in both my S1's was a waste of time.... you could stream radio over 3/4g though with an iphone hooked up via bluetooth - that would be a neat install.

Perhaps tracking back from the radio's aerial socket might locate the aerial but I'm not sure it is to be reccomended I was told that in my S3 the aerial was behind the rear partition with the speakers, ie on top of the fuel tank. The factory fitted an electric one in the o/s rear wing which alwayss worked perfectly (so presumably wing to radio was either an easy route or used pre-existing wires and connections). On the other hand, tuning into the side pipes was more fun than Radio2 and we played CDs when appropriate.

I was thinking of going DAB and installing one of the neat aerials that sticks to the windscreen.
Has anyone tried this approach?

Has anyone tried this approach? They don't work with heated screens, I was told by the local Car HiFi specialist.
